This role is a senior ICT Strategy and Planning role within Company X. The role has broad accountability for Company X ICT strategy and planning related functions including ICT architecture, ICT standards and ICT governance, and Company X business continuity planning (including Disaster Recovery).

ICT strategy is required to set the long term technology direction for Company X and will need to be established in close consultation with key business users and Company X stakeholders. The strategy must support the business needs of customers.

Technology Architecture is required in support of strategy to capture and describe the components that make up the technology environment and ensure they interoperate effectively to deliver business solutions. Enterprise architecture is required primarily to drive alignment of Company X ICT with customer’s requirements.

This role is also accountable for developing the policies required to manage Company X business continuity (including disaster recovery) and the ICT governance requirements of Company X. This includes developing frameworks aligned to the appropriate industry standards, creating the required forums and establishing appropriate monitoring mechanisms to ensure that compliance is effective.

This role is a key contributor to setting the overall strategic context for the Company X. This includes an important component of customer engagement with owner departments to ensure that the “planned” element of business requirements are clearly integrated into the Company X technology strategy.

The role has a strong focus on the future technology state (target technology architecture) and the optimal roadmap, standards and policies to achieve the target state. It is also accountable for establishing mechanisms to communicate the target architecture to Company X staff and customer stakeholders.

Within Company X, this role has decision rights in relation to all technology related decisions
